Data Center 1: DFT

The main Chicago data center, features ultra-redundant power, HVAC, and networking systems with no single point of failure. The building features over 200,000 square feet of raised-floor computing space; SingleHop currently has 10,000 Sqft of computing space in this location.

Hardware we use

We use a wide range of dedicated server models, most of them housed in SingleHop and Softlayer, the ability of these varies according to the population of clients either on a specific product or the needs of one in particular, all our servers are using quad-core models and up to 24GB of RAM, all hard drives in RAID construction and several daily restore points to remote offsite servers.

   Dual-city grid power feeds, flywheel based UPS system (N+2), and 16 on-site and operational generators

3. Dry-pipe water-based fire suppression system.

   Dry-pipe water-based fire suppression system with laser-based pre-fire detection mechanism (VESDA)

4. Automatic temperature control system.

   Fully automatic and intelligent temperature and climate control system, with humidity and temperature sensors located throughout the facility

5. 24x7 Security.

   24x7 security staffing with biometric and key card access control, including man-traps and cab lock mechanisms

6. On-site data center operators.

   On-site data center operations and network operations suites staffed 24x7 by SingleHop engineers
